The "long shoe horn trick" to get your shoes on with Parkinson's

One of the most important things to prevent falling in Parkinson’s disease is to put on a good pair of shoes everyday. Check out our facebook video on the shoe horn trick for Parkinson’s.

Flip flops and open back shoes can potentially lead to instability and contribute to falling.

Using a long shoe horn will allow you to more easily slip your shoes on— while in a seated position. It will in many cases allow you to leave the laces tied!

There are many designs and you should choose the one that you are most comfortable and safe using to put your shoes on. We DO NOT recommend standing when using a long shoe horn as pictured below. Seated is a much safer option!
