How to find clinical trials for Parkinson's disease?
Many people ask us ihow to find clinical trials for Parkinson’s. We shot a short video to help navigate and to find a Parkinson’s disease clinical trial. Here are some tips.
Go to clinicaltrials.gov
If you use the search term “Parkinson’s disease” or “Parkinson disease” you will get too many entries (usually over 5,000).
On the left side of the screen there is usually a list of check-boxes which can be activated to narrow your search.
If you are looking for a clinical trial, we suggest using the “intervention” check box— and also by choosing (checking the boxes) pre-phase I, phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3. Phase 4 are after market studies and could be useful in some cases— but most people are looking for the newest therapies. This will narrow the number of trials to hundreds instead of the thousands of entries.
If you are interested in registry or observational studies you can do a search of these types of studies. They are also very important but these are usually not testing the actual new devices and drugs.
