Demoralization and Parkinson's: Check out these video tips

Demoralization is common in Parkinson’s disease and in one recently published series it was estimated to occur in 18%. It is critical to keep in mind that 30% or 1 in 3 folks with demoralization and Parkinson’s may not be depressed. Risk factors include a younger age and being single. The best treatments are not known, but we recommend a multidisciplinary team approach and especially psychology, licensed clinical social work and psychiatry. We must do a better job at identification and in developing new treatments for demoralization in Parkinson’s disease. In more severe cases we may even consider an inpatient rehabilitation admission. See our recent Facebook video on this topic of demoralization and Parkinson’s disease.
